New investment in plant & machinery

PRESS RELEASE 20/06/11:
LOCAL FIRM INVESTS £100,000 IN MANUFACTURING FACILITY
Little Dreams Ltd, a furniture manufacturer based on Campbell Road in Stoke, has increased its manufacturing capacity by adding in brand new, state-of-the-art plant and equipment. The company has been making contract furniture for schools, public sector organisations (most recently the 10 new community fire stations throughout Staffordshire) and retail outlets for almost 25 years and hopes that the new production line will help them in their bid for some of the furniture for the upcoming local BSF projects.
The new 43m2 beam saw will mean that the factory can process raw materials with greater speed and accuracy, and in greater quantities. This is in addition to new 3D cabinet design software, another new CNC router installed last Autumn, and ahead of plans for a revolutionary new type of wood burner that will use wood waste in an environmentally responsible way - to heat the factory, minimising the carbon footprint.
"We did have some dark days a couple of years ago when the recession kicked in. With the co-operation and commitment of our staff, we were able to avoid redundancies and work through the downturn. Last year we had a much better year, and it only seemed right to invest in the plant & equipment and create sustainable jobs, so that the business could continue to grow. We are delighted that we can now go ahead with the scheme" says Managing Director, Andrew Leake. "These investments are the start of a new day and we can now look to the future".
November 2009: Green company cars
When the time came to replace the company cars, we chose the revolutionary hybrid Toyota Prius. We felt that this was the best choice in line with our policy of conducting every aspect of our business in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
